I am interested in how healthcare organisations look after their staff in order to look after other people.
I work with Edgecumbe as an associate, working in a team to visit healthcare Trusts and help with organisational difficulties.
I worked in the NHS in a range of senior positions and provided reflective practice sessions for NHS and social care staff in hospital and social care contexts. I still provide half a day of consultancy.
I worked as senior clinical advisor for a UK charity for 5 years, taking part in board level meetings
In a freelance capacity I now provide staff training on looking after ourselves and each other at work. This training draws on research I have carried out in this area.
I completed a Masters in organisational psychology at Birkbeck College in 2020 and am studying a PhD from 2022 at Bath University. The PhD is about making an intervention to reduce empathy-based stress in staff who work on mental health wards for teenagers.
